Today's Tally

Liam's work for today:
- unrolled one roll of scotch tape to "taping the kitchen and family room together"
- shoveled snow and ice ONTO the driveway to "make it slippery for me"
- almost pulled the fire alarm at the library
- stuffed a load of clean laundry into the drawers of the island in the kitchen

And so it begins...

Always one to crave feedback and approval from others, and after many, many crazy Liam stories, I've decided to start my own blog.  This is surely another sign of the apocalypse!

I am a stay-at-home-mom to Liam, 3 years, and Colin, 10 months.  I have Epstein Barr Virus,  a condition similar to Chronic Fatigue, which forces me to pace myself much more than I would like.  I have been diagnosed with Dysthymia or chronic depression.  Most of the time it's under control until I do something crazy like have a baby or make any other kind of major life change.  Oh, and also, I have Seasonal Effective Disorder (SAD) so winter is not a good time of year for me.  But those three weeks a year when I feel really good, I like to think I'm pretty awesome!

I used to work for a wonderful non-profit in Columbus, Ohio, but quit my job in December 2005 to focus on a career as an artist.  After a Jerry Maguire-type speech at the company Christmas party, I packed up my desk and headed home.  And that's when the real adventure began...

Liam was born in September 2006 and Colin in March 2009.  Because of my health problems and because my husband, William, travels for is job as an electrical engineer, I had to make a choice between paid work and staying home with my kids.   I used to wonder why women with kids always looked so grumpy and stressed out at the supermarket.  Now I know why...
